Description of Project
During the Documentary in Filmmaking summer course, SD41 high school students will learn about the craft of documentary filmmaking. They will learn filmmaking foundations, including scriptwriting, filming and editing, and create their own short films. Films will feature accomplished women participating and leading dynamic projects within the field of computing science.
This course will be offered in collaboration with SFU’s Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology (FCAT) and Faculty of Applied Science (FAS). Students will attend class at SFU Burnaby and learn how to use professional filmmaking equipment, including cameras, lighting and sound equipment, and editing software.
By the end of the course, each student will have created a short film featuring a woman in computing science.
