Problem Set 3

This problem set has two parts. The first part contains questions on data center networks and multimedia systems. The second part analyzes the security of the TPC/IP protocol stack.

  • Assume we have four racks of servers in a data center, each has 40 servers. Draw a diagram showing a two-level tree-structured data center network that connects these racks using 48-port switches. The network should have an oversubscription factor of 10. What is the smallest oversubscription factor that we can achieve with the 48-port switches?
  • Problem 9.5 in chapter 9 of the [Kurose and Ross, 7th edition] textbook.
  • Problem 9.11 in chapter 9 of the [KR'17] textbook.
