Topic Presentations Details
-
For information on grading criteria please see the information in the courses menu.
-
The length of one presentation should be about 15 minutes, allowing for up to 10 minutes of questions. Joint presentations (2 or more students) can take up more time, up to 30 minutes. If you make a joint presentation, both students will get the same mark.
-
Your presentation should cover an existing topic within the scope of the course material.
- This could be material from our readings. In that case 1-2 background lectures/papers should provide enough material for a presentation.
- It could also cover an additional paper you find interesting. 1 paper is enough.
- You can choose to cover more but it may be difficult in the time allotted. We can discuss the option of you signing up for a second presentation.
- In terms of timing, you should cover a topic close to what we are discussing the week you are presenting. For example, the topic for that week, or for the week before, or the week after.
- This could be material from our readings. In that case 1-2 background lectures/papers should provide enough material for a presentation.
-
When you've settled on a preliminary topic, please edit the course webpage and put down your name and topic. We can resolve gaps and conflicts as they arise.
