Lecture audio recordings

Office Hours

Greg: Wednesdays 3:30–4:20 and Fridays 1:30-2:20 in CSIL (ASB 9838), except week 1 will be in TASC1 9229.

TAs: no office hours. Available during the lab times, and will answer discussion forum questions regularly.

All questions about the course material, technical problems, etc should go to the discussion forum. For questions about grading or personal questions email cmpt-295-help@sfu.ca.

Grading

  • Weekly lab assignments: 12 × 2.5% = 30%
  • Mini-project: 8%
  • Quizzes: 2 × 12% = 24%
  • Final Exam: 38%

Late penalty: 20% per day.

To get credit for this course, I expect you to demonstrate that you know how to use programming techniques to manipulate and analyze data. That means:

  • A pass on the weighted average of the stuff where you demonstrate programming ability: exercises + project.
  • A pass on the weighted average of the quizzes.

Failure to do these may result in failing the course.
