Some late assignments may be accepted, without grade penalty, according to this “grace day” policy.
- Each student starts with five grace days.
- If you submit an assignment after the submission deadline (as specified on the main Coursys Course Information Page), but less then 24 hours after, you use up one grace day.
- If you submit an assignment more then 24 hours after the submission deadline, but less than fourty-eight hours after, you use up two grace days, and similarly one additional grace day per additional 24 hours.
- Late days are counted from the time an assignment is due. For example, if an assignment was due on Friday at 10:30am, and is submitted on Saturday at 10:40am, 2 grace days will have been used.
- Once your grace days have been used up, no further late assignment submissions are allowed, and you will receive zero for any subsequent assignment which is not submitted on time.
- You can use up all your grace days for one assignment (not recommended!!), or save them for the end in case of "emergency". The purpose of the grace days is to have a light-weight method for dealing with the various things that can happen, sometimes at the last moment, to interfere with making a deadline, but do not have the status of major events such as serious illness.
